If I wanted to get more rogue than wizard, what do you think is highest level of spell from wizard I would want to end at for good utility spells? I guess I’m trying to optimize what I can for what is likely an unoptimal build.A place to discuss the latest version of Dungeons & Dragons, the fifth edition, known during the playtest as D&D Next. So what advice would you have for doing the swap in a satisfying way? I could just go to wizard straight at level 2, but that feels a bit narratively unsatisfying. That said, I also don’t want to be too weak or a detriment to the team for awhile. I know people say both rogue and wizard are ones you don’t really wanna multiclass out of cause they’re level up are so useful. I’ve looked at a lot of similar questions and people usually get a lot of optimization suggestions like dip two into bladesinger or school of divination, but I want to stick with the backstory and narrative for my character over power. My problem is just trying to nail down how to do the transition. I started with a rogue intending to mainly be an arcane trickster/order of scribes hybrid, but as I’ve thought about it more and looked at what my party members intend to do, I feel like transitioning into more wizard than rogue would be more beneficial and fun with our group. So my campaign recently started, still level one hopefully close to two.
